Title: Double Pack
Chapter Completed: August 30, 2003
The gang had migrated into Drew’s kitchen – it was closer to the beer. And this way everyone could sit together; there was much more planning to be done for the next week: A double wedding.
“And we can move the alter over here,” Steve doodled his idea on to a napkin so everyone could see his vision.
“When did you become a wedding planner?” Drew plopped down in the chair next to his brother, looking over the napkin plan and shaking his head.
“I dabble,” Steve simply shrugged, getting a surpressed giggle from his younger brother and Oswald.
On the other side of the kitchen, Arianna had finally managed to corner the lanky male by the refrigerator.
“Lewis?”
“huh?’ he poked his head up from inside, midway through his beer hunt.
“Ah…Are you sure you’re alright with marrying a complete stranger?” she leaned on the fridge door, looking down at him with obviously concerned eyes.
He shrugged, handing a beer up to her, “It’s not big deal.” He came back up to full height, beer in hand.
The woman smiled at his casual response, “Well, I want you to know how much I appreciate it. Thank you,” she moved to hug him; wrapping her arms around his neck. Being five-foot, eleven it wasn’t much of a stretch.
Lewis on the other hand reacted like a deer caught in headlights. He stumbled back in surprise at the contact and promptly downed his beer. He was the group’s loser and never figured a woman would be happy to marry him. It was all more shocking then the first time he stumbled into the mutant ward at Drug Co.
Arianna had left her stunned ‘fiancé’ and ventured over to the grouping. She leaned on the back of Drew’s chair. In all honesty, the non-stop supply of beer had given her a little bit of a buzz. She wasn’t that used to none stop drinking, like the Buzz Beer Boys.
“Are you sure you’re alright with sharing your wedding?”
“It’s not everyday we find someone willing to marry Lewis,” he chuckled to himself, getting an elbow in the side from Lily, “And it’s just the nice thing to do, since you did come here to get married.” For that he got a sweetly satisfied smile from his fiancé.
“Thanks,” the new girl hugged her new friend from her place behind him and stumbled back.
“Whoa there,” Lewis swooped in to catch her, slipping his arms under hers, just as she slipped into unconsciousness.
“Looks like somebody’s drunk,” Kellie slurred before her head smacked down on the table.
“Think we should get them home,” Oswald fought off a laugh.
“I can drop Kellie home,” Steve pulled on his jacket, “Mimi told me not to be late, or she’ll cut me off.”
Drew, Oswald and Lewis managed a shudder.
“Isn’t that more then enough of a reason to stay away?” Drew quipped.
Steve just shook his head – he became accustomed to his brother’s lack of affection for his wife, as well as vice versa. He just pulled Kellie up onto her feet and lead her out of the house, giving a nice wave as he did.
“Um,…guys,” Lewis tried for their attention, “What about her?” He lifted her up a bit, seeing as he was still holding her up off the floor.
“Anyone know where she lives?” Lily raised the obvious question.
The only reply was blank stares and shifting eyes around the room, until the all fell on Lewis. He shrugged, bringing Arianna up and down again.
“What should we do with her?” Oswald had come around the table and looked at her like she was a new toy.
“Guess we could take her home,” Lewis hoisted her a little higher to adjust the weight, “Oswald, grab her legs.”
“This’ll be the first drunk girl you guys ever took home that won’t press charges,” Drew laughed.
Lewis glared at him, “Just get the door.”
Shrugging, Drew got up and held open the back door for his pair of friends, and their load. The duo literally carried the girl out the door.
“Two guys, carrying an unconscious woman through the park at night,” he took a moment to dwell on it, “Nope. Nothing weird there.”

Arianna awoke with a throbbing head and not the slightest clue as to where she was. Despite what her hair and nose stud might suggest, she wasn’t exactly a major party animal and didn’t have any experience waking up without knowing where she was. Feelings around the room she switched on a lamp – the SS Enterprise to be exact and that shone light on a collection of books – Serial Killer Encyclopaedias to be specific.
“Charming,” she continued through the eccentric collection of things into the hall, only to find that the collection continued. The walls resembled, to her, those of a junk shop. But despite the tacky tureen, the woman managed to find her way to what she could only assume was the living room. At least that’s what the couch seemed to suggest. Sneaking up to the piece of furniture she smiled and even laughed.
Lying on the couch, limbs dangling in all directions, was Lewis. Of course he was wearing Star Trek pyjamas…but it was cute none the less.
Unable to control it Arianna crept over to watch him; after all she was marrying the man and needed to get to know him, so she had every right to watch him. But just as her curiosity got the best of her, and she leaned over him, his eyes popped open.
“AAHHHH!” Lewis screamed, bolting upright and sending Arianna back, “Don’t probe me! Don’t probe me!” He screeched, holding out his fingers as a cross, “Probe Oswald! Probe Oswald!”
“No, Lewis. Lewis,” She tried to calm him down, showing him that it was just her, “It’s just me. Arianna.”
“I knew that,” he nervously darted his eyes around the room.
“Right,” she drew it out, like she was humouring him, “I just wanted to thank you for your room. That is your room, isn’t it?”
He nodded through a yawn, having got over his paranoia, for the moment.
“Right,” she nodded, taking a cautious seat next to him. “You don’t talk much do you?”
“Less chance of saying something wrong,” he simply shrugged. He was slipping into the self-loathing personality. But of course that was Lewis. “The more I talk, the more likely I am to stick my giant foot in my mouth.”
She knotted her brow and bit her bottom lip. She had certainly found herself a character to marry. “Think we should…you know probably get to know each other a little bit before we actually…you know, get married?” she sputtered on, then turned to him. But Lewis had already fallen back to sleep. She laughed; he was cute when he slept. “You’re right. We do have all week,” carefully, she pulled the blanket over him, “Night.”
