Chloe looked up to see a new face behind the Talon counter. “Ah, you’re new,” she pointed out.
The frazzled red-head nodded.
Shrugging she ordered, “Coffee.”
The new waitress waited, exasperated.

“Extra large, milk, two sugars,” Lex had appeared behind Chloe, “It’s an important order. Best customer.” He smiled, making the new girl hurry off. He pressed his chest against Chloe’s back, lingering there to whisper in her ear, “It’s such an intimate gesture knowing how someone takes their coffee.” His breath tickled her neck as he drifted away.

A knowing smile crept across her face, “Large, black, one sugar.”
